Nancy R. Hieber

Nancy passed away peacefully at Hubbard Hill on Wednesday the 14th of February. Born and raised in Fort Wayne Indiana to Raymond & Grace Oelfke. She married Robert (Bob) Hieber on August 10th 1957. He has predeceased her.

She had worked at Wayne Candy and Wayne TV before settling in Elkhart with her husband. She worked alongside him at Builder’s Enterprise for 44 years.

She is survived by Kevin (Tracy) Hieber, Kim (Steve) Shipley, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and her sister Sandy Pollum Boruk. Though some were absent from her life they were thought of often.

She was active in Elkhart County Homemakers “Bloomin Dandelions” club, Winers and Diners Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and that loud lunch table at Neal’s Café. She enjoyed crafting things of all kinds, eating out with friends, and a good Perry Mason episode.

Visitation will be Monday the 19th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with graveside services following at Rice Cemetery.
