Nicholas R. Fortino

Nicholas R. Fortino, 64, of 3600 E. Bristol Street, Elkhart, passed away July 15, 2008 at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen.

He was born July 2, 1944 in Elkhart to Frank and Mary (Bibbo) Fortino. Surviving are 2 daughters, Dana (Cory) Wright of Goshen, IN and Jennifer Davis of Fishers, IN, 2 grandsons, Hunter and Mason Wright, 1 sister, Mary Jo (James) Kiefer and 1 brother, George (Sandy) Fortino both of Elkhart. His parents preceded in death.

Mr. Fortino had worked for Walters Auto Sales in Osceola and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bristol, and the Knights of Columbus and Loyal Order of Moose # 599 in Elkhart. He served with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.

Friends may call from 5-9 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula St. Bristol. Fr. Bob VanKempen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vincents Cemetery where the DAV# 19 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard will render military honors.

Memorials may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
