Nylene Junelle Culveyhouse

God called a special angel to heaven on Saturday August 8, 2015, Nylene Junelle Culveyhouse, 77, of Elkhart passed away at home.
She was born March 27, 1938 in Elkhart to Floyd H. and Edna (Lovejoy) Kindle. On Christmas Eve in 1959 she married Donald Culveyhouse who survives along with 4 children: Richard (Sharon Ladner) Walls of Gulfport, MS; Daniel Culveyhouse of San Francisco, CA; Laura Culveyhouse of Elkhart and David Culveyhouse of Elkhart; 6 grandchildren: Andrew Culveyhouse, Justin (Cindy) Walls, Robert Walls, Tricia (Jim) Flicker-Miller, Jon (Elizabeth) Reynolds, William Johnson and Michael (Alden) Johnson; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jack (Marion) Kindle of Winter Garden, FL and Gene (Pat) Kindle of Sun Lakes, AZ; a sister, Diane (Ron) Rief of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother-in-law, James Culveyhouse of West Palm Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Beverly Rouch and a granddaughter Erin Fink.

Nylene was a cosmetician/beautician before she had children, then she stayed home to become the Chief Co-ordinator of “Culvey’s Cove”. She spent many years in retail sales at Stephenson’s and Elder Beerman after her children were grown. She was a mom to all of her children’s friends and a wonderful friend to so many. She was notorious for her smile, her kindness and her exquisite cooking.

Visitation will be 4 to 6pm Wednesday Aug. 12, followed by a Memorial Service to be held at 6pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Melissa Zimmerman from Faith United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice.
