Odis F. Anton

Odis F. Anton, 83 of Elkhart died Wednesday March 7, 2012 at Hubbard Hill Estates.

He was born Oct. 19, 1928 in Jasper, Alabama to Arthur and Sadie (Tidwell) Anton and married Carrie J. Hamilton on March 7, 1951. She survives along with a daughter, Cathy Anton of Shaumburg, IL, 1 brother Sylvester Anton and 1 sister Mildred Skinner both of Jasper, AL. 3 brothers, Charlie, James and Clarence preceded in death.

Odis owned Anton Interiors then worked for 11 years as manager at Georgie Boy Mfg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and a half hour prior to services on Saturday at 10:30 am at McCoy Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Raymond LaBorde will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
