Oleata Sweeney Givens

Oleata K. Givens, 94, of Elkhart, passed away August 6, 2008 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.She was born on October 14, 1913 in Linden, West Virginia to W.D. "Swiney" and Reatha Starcher (Price) Sweeney. She married James S. "Jake" Givens Jr. who precedes her in death.

Survivors include a son, James S. (Dawn) Givens III of Elkhart, Indiana, two brothers, Fred and Donald Sweeney, a sister, Judith Sweeney, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.A daughter, Judith Givens, preceded her in death.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Fidler & Frame Funeral Home, 1126 DuPont Avenue East, Belle, West Virginia.Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, West Virginia.Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. Local arrangements were handled by Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart, Indiana.
