Ora Wayne Miller

Ora Wayne Miller, 70 of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at his home. He was born May 24, 1947 in Middlebury to Joe B. and Barbara (Bontrager) Miller. He married Deborah S. Yoder on Jan. 16, 1993 in Elkhart. She survives along with 2 daughters, Carmen (Shannon) Hale of Grover Hill, OH and Rebecca Mabry of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ruby Miller and Viola Schmucker both of Middlebury, Ida Ellen (Fred) Miller of Nashville, AR and a brother, Melvin (Esther) Miller of Middlebury. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Katherine Schmucker and a brother Vernon Miller.

Ora graduated from Middlebury High School and was a truck driver for Yoder Oil Company for 25 years. He was a member of the Goshen Iron Horsemen, A.M.A and was a former reserve officer for the Goshen Police Department.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Monday, Jan. 8th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday. Chaplain Bob Puhr from Heartland Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive East Cemetery.
