Patricia R. Flicker

Patricia R. Flicker, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Monday Feb. 5, 2018 at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born in Elkhart, IN to Everard L. and Ruth (Anderson) Stemm, Sr. She married Glenn Flicker on April 11, 1966 in Elkhart.

Pat is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Elkhart; her daughter, Tricia (James) Miller, of Osceola, IN; Granddaughters, Jami (Michael) Franks of Elkhart and Riley Miller of Osceola. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Andrea Franks. Surviving siblings are Lynda Stevens of Mendon, MI, Harold McCreary of Dowagiac, MI, Sharon (Kenny) Cothran of St. John’s, AZ, Marion “Bud” (Teri) McCreary of Edwardsburg, MI and Mary (Eric) Pringle of Elkhart, IN, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Scott Flicker, her step-father, Lloyd McCreary, Jr., and several siblings: Everard L. Stemm, Jr., Kathy Weirick, Sam McCreary, Maria Sobieralski and Heidi Heckman.

She was sweet, loving, kind and thoughtful. Her hands crocheted countless baby blankets. Her arms hugged hundreds of family, friends and sometimes strangers. Her ears listened to anyone who needed it. Her mind offered her best advice, and her heart had room for everyone. If she saw a newspaper article that she thought would help someone, she would very neatly cut it out and carefully label who the article was for. She was the sharer of almost every Facebook post. Traveling made her happy. She attended countless band & orchestra concerts, softball games, and winter guard performances for her kids & granddaughters. She knew the words to every Elvis song, loved dolphins, going to the casino, and watching the ocean waves roll in and roll back out.

Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the 2 PM service on Friday Feb. 9 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Henry officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Prairie Street Cemetery.
