Patricia A. Hager-Scoville, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 5:30 pm at Riverside Village, Elkhart. She was born September 9, 1925 in Elkhart to Thomas and Bernice (Frye) Rowe. On September 27, 1945 she married Robert R. Hager. He died May 21, 1988. Later, she married Tad Scoville on Nov. 4 1989, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by 3 sons Stephen (Debby) Hager of Saranac, MI, David Hager of South Bend and Lance Hager of Niles, MI; 1 daughter Amy Hager of Elkhart; 2 grandsons; 6 granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers Tom (Nan) Rowe of Owensboro, KY and Sam (Carol) Rowe of Murrieta, CA. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters Carrie Palmer and Carol Lechlitner.
Pat was a homemaker, and also worked as a teachers’ assistant at Mary Daly School. She was a Cub Scout and Brownies den mother, and was active in UNICEF of Elkhart County for many years. She was an avid Bridge partner with her husband Bob. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and putting on family reunion picnics and holiday dinners for her extended family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School in her younger years.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1 pm, with visitation one hour prior at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Rev. Dr. William Hemmig will officiate. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery.
