Paul R. Roose

Paul R. Roose, 81, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:12 pm January 30, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born May 21, 1927 in Elkhart to Victor and Inez (McClintic) Roose and married Loretta P. Ellsworth on December 28, 1962 in Elkhart. She died August 11, 2003. Surviving are 2 stepdaughters, Sandra Sanders of Wakarusa, IN and Cynthia Sanders of Winter Haven, FL and a sister, Mary Jane Robinson of Goshen, IN. A brother, Victor Roose Jr. preceded in death.

Mr. Roose retired as a receiving clerk after 40 years from Federal Paperboard Co. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and playing horseshoes. He served in the U.S. Army in world war II and Korea.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday. Reverend Tim Garner will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Faith Mission Food Pantry.
