Paul Gilbert Sweitzer

Paul G. Sweitzer, 77, of Cassopolis, MI passed away Wednesday April 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Paul was born October 27, 1945 in Elkhart, IN to Richard and Theresa Sweitzer. He married Kathryn “Kathy” Kiriazis on November 29, 1969 at Chapel Hill Missionary Church in Union, MI.

Paul graduated from Cassopolis Public Schools and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Paul worked for the CTS Corporation for 44 years as a Tool and Die maker. He was a farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Member of the American Legion in Edwardsburg, MI, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Large. He attended  Grace Bible Church, Elkhart.

Surviving are his wife, of 53 years Kathy, their children, Leslie (Michael) Bradley of Cassopolis, Kris Sweitzer of Lafayette, IN, son-in-law Brent Hoover of Plymouth, IN, a step-daughter Sherri Lemieux of New Jersey, sister, Michele (Michael) Eaton of Edwardsburg, MI, sister-in-law Carol Sweitzer of Kentucky; 7 grandchildren: Jacob Bradley, Jena Bradley, Brady Hoover, Brice Hoover, Ashley Ginther, Kirk Frye and Shalee Hall, 4 great-grandchildren and his nephews Craig (Sharrla) Eaton and Eric (Marnie) Eaton. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Theresa Sweitzer, his daughter Tina Hoover, brothers Duane Sweitzer and Garry Sweitzer.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held  at 11 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the funeral home with visitation one hour before funeral services.  Burial will follow at Kessington Cemetery in Edwardsburg, MI with military honors.
