Pauline G. Haut

Pauline G. Haut, 89 of Elkhart, passed away Saturday Dec. 12, 2015 at the North Woods Village, Mishawaka, surrounded by her family.

She was born December 24, 1925 in Quincy, IL to Robert A. and Grace (Stormer) Cason. She married Wilbur H. Haut on September 16, 1945 in Quincy. He died on Sept. 17, 1981. Surviving are her children, Brian (Madalyn) Haut of Grand Junction, CO, Cathy, (John) Mishler of Elkhart and William (Marcia) Haut of Noblesville; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald Cason of St. Augustine, FL and Richard (Maurine) Cason of Quincy, IL and a sister, Carolyn (Carson) Totch of Plano, TX. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Badamo and her parents.

Pauline was a homemaker and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She volunteered with the Lutheran Braille Workers for more than 30 years and was a volunteer for the Elkhart General Hospital Auxiliary. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter and enjoyed making baby quilts for single mothers. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed helping others.

Family and friends may gather from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday Dec. 16th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will begin at 1 pm. Rev. Spencer Mielke will officiate. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Rice Cemetery.
