Raymond M. Douglas Jr., 77, of Bristol, died April 17, 2010 at Hubbard Hill Estates. He was born August 25, 1932 in South Bend to Raymond M. Douglas Sr. and Lille (Helling) Douglas and married Joanne E. Schrock on June 21, 1953 in Elkhart. She survives with 4 daughters, Lori (Jeff) Whisler, Teri (Bud) Stout, Juli (Stan) Burt and Jodi (Jim) Riester all of Elkhart, 1 son, Stephen (Terri) Douglas of South Bend; 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and 1 brother, David (Frances) Douglas of Elkhart. His parents preceded in death.

Mr. Douglas graduated from Elkhart High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Douglas Investment Services in Elkhart since 1972. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School and served in every capacity in the Church. He was past president of the Elkhart Noon Kiwanis Club and was one of the founding members of the Christian Business Men’s Committee. He was awarded the Silver Beaver for his service to the Boy Scouts of America and served in the Big-Brothers Big Sisters Organization. He was past master of Kane Lodge #183 F& AM, and was past Thrice Potent Master of Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, and was a 33rd degree mason. He was a member of Orak Shrine, Michigan City where he was Potentate in 1996. He was currently chairman of Four Lakes Country Club.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and a half hour prior to the 10 am service on Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church. Pastor Catherine Koziatek will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
