Renda L. Shellito

Renda L. Shellito, 71, of Elkhart, died September 29, 2010 in Elkhart after suffering a stroke. She was born September 5, 1939 to Forest and Bessie (Raymond) Davis in Mendon, OH. She married Neal Shellito of Elkhart in May 1988. He died in May 2004.

Surviving are daughters Julie A. (Harry) Nadel of Beverly Hills, CA, Jan M. Holt of Elkhart; son Timothy A. Wagner of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Justin (Stacy) Richmond and Andrew (Michelle) Richmond of Cincinnati, OH, Nathan and Joshua Holt of Elkhart; great-grandchildren Tyler, Luke and Elsa Richmond of Cincinnati; brother Harold (Katie) Davis of Michigan; sisters JoAnn (Roger) Freeman and Marlene (Carl) Marsee, of Ohio; and companion Nelson Schlosser of Elkhart. Besides her parents and husband, Neal, she was preceded in death by a grandson Nicholas Richmond.

Renda was a resident of Elkhart since 1957. She worked in the restaurant business for many years and in real estate. She recently enjoyed being a homemaker and traveling. Renda was an avid bowler for many years, traveling to state tournaments.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elkhart. Dr. Bill Hemmig will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
