Retha P. Cline

Retha P. Cline, 88 of 343 South Nappanee Street, Elkhart, died May 28, 2009 @ 8:25 P.M. at Woodland Manor Nursing Home. She was born August 27, 1920 in Elkhart, Indiana to Louis H. and Leona (Hoover) Miller. She married Theodore E. Cline on November 11, 1944 in Crown Point, Indiana. He preceded her in death June of 1986.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan (Alan) Stemm of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ruth (Walter) Fry of Elkhart, Indiana; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Fred L. (Betty) Miller of Elkhart and a sister, Doris Stout of Union, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence E. Miller, a half-brother, Dale Shaner and a sister, Wava Meinke.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at Rice Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Kirkpatrick officiating. Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cline was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the F.O.E. # 395 for over 50 years where she served as Past President, District Treasurer and other offices. She was also a member of the Railroad Pensioners. She was very involved with her children in Brownies, Girl Scouts and 4 H. She was very good at cooking and sewing.

Memorial contributions may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
