Richard L. Botruff

Richard L. Botruff, 70, of Elkhart, passed away December 29, 2011 at 9:45 am at his home. He was born July 31, 1941 in Galesburg, IL to Richard E. and Leona A. (Mates) Botruff. He married Terrey J. Brusch on October 26, 1963 in Dyer, IN.
She survives along with their children Debra L. Botruff of Littleton, CO, Ron E. Botruff of Goshen, and Diane L. (Tige) Williams of Elkhart; 3 grandchildren Jack, Nolan and Sidney Williams; a sister Judith A. Lohse of Atlanta, GA; and a brother Barry A. (Penny) Botruff of St. Charles, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard retired in 2008 after 20 years as director of purchasing for Grummann-Olson Company in Sturgis, MI. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and finance committee, and was also treasurer and an usher . He enjoyed golfing and fishing, and was an avid Purdue fan. He enjoyed watching pro football, and college basketball and football.
Friends may visit the family Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart and one-half hour prior to the 10 am service Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 831 W. Marion Street, Elkhart. Rev. Tim Diemer will officiate. Cremation will take place after the service.
