Richard D. “Dick” Jenks, 79 of Bristol, passed away October 15, 2014 at his home. He was born May 6, 1935 in Cleghorn, Iowa to Harold and Florence (McComb) Jenks. He married Janet C. Hagenbucher on June 17, 1956 in Marcus, IA. She survives with 3 daughters, Terri (Lyle) Gaff of Elkhart, Tami (Jason) Dean of Goshen and Toni (Erik) Ness of Mesa, AZ; a son, Tom (Jeannene) Jenks of Bristol; 9 grandchildren, Adam and Eric Gaff, Olivia and Ian Jenks, Amelia, Lilah and Landon Dean, and Garrett and Bennett Ness. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Jenks.
Dick was a business owner and Entrepreneur. He was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, Elkhart Noon Exchange Club and was a mentor to children with the CARES program for Elkhart Community Schools.
Visitation for Dick will be from 2-6 pm Sunday, Oct. 19th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and an hour prior to services at 11 am Monday, Oct. 20th at Faith United Methodist Church. Reverend John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
