Richard "Dick" Tait

ELKHART- Richard W. “Dick” Tait, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday at Hospice House of Elkhart. He was born Jan. 31, 1931 in Elkhart to Lester and Beatrice (Headley) Tait.

Surviving are the love of his life, Sally Flynn, two sons: Marty and Bryan Tait both of California, grandchildren Jennifer, Angela and Gregory Tait, Sally’s children: Tim(Ladonna) Flynn and Todd Flynn of Elkhart and Sally’s grandchildren: Todd II, Brooke, Tyler, Carlton, DeRonne, Danielle and Erik.

Dick graduated from Elkhart High School and won the 1949 Bringle Sports Award. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Dick owned the Mr. Shop in Easy Shopping Place and retired from Myer’s Men’s Wear.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart.
Burial will be at Rice Cemetery.
