Rick A. Stouder, 65, of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Rick was born to Merrill L.  and Betty J. Stouder on May 31, 1957 in Elkhart, IN.

Rick grew up in Elkhart where he graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1975. Rick played football and was involved in theater. He played bass in a traveling production of Godspell which was a high point in his life. Rick studied at Earlham College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from Bridgeport University. He worked at several theaters in Indiana including the Bristol Opera House before moving to Indianapolis where he spent the remainder of his life. Rick worked for Markey’s Audio Visual Company and did lighting for the rock band The Spirtles. Rick had many friends in the music and theater world and was a Deadhead. He enjoyed music, reading, hiking, kayaking and spending time with family and friends.

Rick is survived by his sister Cheryl (John) DeJohn of Elkhart, IN and his brother Craig Stouder of Arizona; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Hunter) Dorsey, Michael DeJohn and Lelia Fyfe; several great nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend, Jeff Lint. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Merrill and Betty Stouder.

Graveside services will be held at 2:45 pm  Monday, November 21, 2022 at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN  where Rick will be laid to rest next to his parents. A celebration of Rick's life is planned for Saturday, May 27, 2023 date and time to be announced.
