Rita K. Gold

Rita K. Gold, 97 of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home.

She was born May 11, 1920 in Prince Edward Island, Canada to Joseph and Jane (Doucette) Bernard. She married Joseph B. Gold on April 17, 1982 in South Bend. He survives along with her sister, Eva Arsenault of Cambridge, Ontario. She was preceded in death by her siblings, George, Emil, Albert, Russell, Leo, Helen, Mary, Mildred, Theresa, Ruth, Julia and Alice.

Rita retired in 1982 from Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Chicago, where she was an assistant office manager. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a volunteer in the gift shop at Elkhart General Hospital and a member of Maple Crest Country Club Goshen. She served as a Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces Reserves.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-7 pm Friday, April 13th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Family and friends of Rita are also invited to the Matterhorn at 6 pm, Saturday, April 21st.
