Robert D. Jones

Robert D. Jones, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on March 15, 2018. He was born on September 21, 1939 in Kosciusko County, IN to Devearl L. and Ruth (Lutes) Jones. He married Emma Joan Mishler in June 1963. She preceded him in death after 50 wonderful years of marriage on May 6, 2013.

Robert is survived by his sister, Mary (Elmer) Blanton; his brothers: J.D. (Janice) Jones and Larry A. Jones, all of Elkhart; Jeffrey Jones of Middlebury, IN and Milton Jones of Union, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert was a truck driver for LaSalle Liquors for 30 years. He and Emma spent winters in Sarasota, FL, where they had a home at Tri-Par Estates. He attended the Worship Center in Elkhart and Liberty Baptist Church in Florida. He was a CB and Ham Radio operator. He loved fishing up north in Michigan and Canada.

He built his own computers and loved trap shooting and watching stock car races.

Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior to the 1 PM Monday March 19, 2018 funeral service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery in Nappanee.

Memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart Hospice House or Sunshine Acres Orphanage in Chandler, AZ.
