Robert C. Lacy, 83, passed away September 27, 2008 at Greencroft Healthcare Center, Goshen.

He was born January 18, 1925 in Wabash, Indiana to Robert C. and Beatrice (Hoagland) Lacy Sr. and married Janette P. Loucks on June 27, 1946 in Goshen. She died December 14, 1998. Surviving are a son, Tom (Julia) of Elkhart; 3 daughters, Becky (Tom) Jones and Patty (Mel) Smith of Elkhart, Julie (Peter) Greene of Scottsdale, AZ, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A sister, Lora L. Lacy preceded in death.

Mr. Lacy retired in 1994 after 44 years as a band instrument technician for United Musical Instruments Co., formerly W. T. Armstrong Co. He was a professional musician for 50 years, playing the saxophone and clarinet in the Dale Higgins Band, Charlie Rogers Bandd, and the Bob Wear Band. He also had a combo of his own. He enjoyed photography, archery and gardening.
He served with the U.S. Navy during world war II.

Friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1;30 pm Wednesday. Reverend Tom Jones, a son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will follow aat Violett Cemetery, Goshen where the DAV# 19, will conduct military graveside honors.
