Robert "Rob" E. Newton

Robert E. “Rob” Newton, 44 of Goshen, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 31, 2016 in his home.
He was born March 23, 1972 in Elkhart to Clifton D. and Janice M. (Kidder) Newton. Surviving are a daughter, Sierra Newton of Goshen and a son, Skyler Newton of Albuquerque, NM; one grandchild is on the way; a sister, Shelley (Kurt) Silveus of Osceola; Parents, Cliff and Jan Newton of Goshen; Grandmother, Jean Kidder of Goshen and a niece and nephew, Taylor and Gabe Silveus of Osceola. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Marie Newton and a grandfather, Elmer Newton.
Rob graduated from Concord High School in 1990 and was a semi-truck driver for Roehl Transport. He previously had worked for Xtreme Fun Party Co. for 6 years. He enjoyed cooking, eating and going to the gym.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday, Aug. 4th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and an hour prior to the funeral service at 11 am Friday at the funeral home. Dr. Daniel Gelatt and Pastor Raymond Laborde will officiate. Interment will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
