Robert “Bob” Lee Waugh, 70 of Elkhart, went home to be with our Lord at 7:09 P.M. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital after complications from a stroke.
He was born August 5, 1939 in Blakeley, West Virginia to Robert Roxel and Mary Francis (Butterworth) Waugh.
He is survived by three daughters, Chrissie Caron, and Robin (Jeff) Wade both of Elkhart, Anna Marie and son Robert L. Waugh II both of West Virginia and a special friend, Cynthia Wade; stepchildren Cindy Miller and Ron Windbigler, both of Elkhart; grandchildren Amie Flowers, Misty Wade, Steve Wade, Roxanne Wade, Taylor Caron and Austin Caron; sisters Charlotte Harter of Michigan, Ruby Haha of Arizona, Kay Workman of Colorado and Alice Workman of South Bend; and brothers Harless Hill of Missouri and Tony Hill of Elkhart. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and a granddaughter, Felicia M. Waugh.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Monday for a Celebration of Life visitation at Stemm Lawson Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Boulevard, Elkhart. Burial will take place at Prairie Street Cemetery.
Mr. Waugh retired from Amerimax Building Products after 18 years as a driver where he was recognized as a ten-year plus safe driver. Prior to that, he was an independent owner-operator. He recently visited Granger Community Church. Bob enjoyed being with family and friends, his dogs, playing checkers, gardening and riding ATVs with his family. He liked watching the W.W.F. and John Wayne movies. He had many close nieces and nephews that he loved greatly and shared a lot of good times together. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
