Robin Lynn Jolgren, age 68, of Elkhart passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. Robin was born on February 18, 1952 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Gordon and Joan Crase. She married her high school sweetheart, Vern Jolgren, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart on August 18, 1972.

Robin worked for over 15 years at Beardsley Elementary School as a Learning Disability Resource Teacher.  She invested her heart and soul into her students, working countless hours outside of school to ensure their learning and lives were enriched.  Robin lived with a mission to love and care for others, and her students held a special place in her heart. She furthered her career as the Data Analyst Secretary, Adult Education, at the Elkhart Area Career Center.  Her excellent organizational skills and attention to detail made her the perfect fit for the job.  When asked why she enjoyed her work, Robin said, “I love how this program can change a person’s life trajectory and make life better for themselves and their families”.

Robin chose to join the Catholic Church as an adult, and her faith was very important to her.  One of her favorite verses she leaned on for strength was “She confidently trusts the lord to take care of her” -Psalm 112:7.

Robin’s favorite time was time spent with family and friends.  Her love for her two grandsons was unmatched, and she spent countless days with them by the pool and at the hockey rink.  She was truly an all-star mom as well, providing unconditional love and care to the very end.  Robin loved to travel, whether it was fun-filled girls’ trips to Disney World or day trips to St. Joe Michigan with her husband; for Robin, the company she traveled with was more important than the destination.  Her favorite place in the world was the beach where she would enjoy walking for hours and seashell collecting with the sounds of the waves lapping upon the shore as her soundtrack.

Robin is survived by her husband of 48 years, Vern Jolgren, of Elkhart; their children, Courtney (Bernard Joseph) Bolka IV, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and Michael Brooks (Tracy Coughlin) Jolgren of Fort Wayne, IN; their grandchildren, Bernard Joseph Bolka V and Barron Bolka; her brothers, Greg Crase of Michigan, Bertrand (Kim) Crase of Elkhart and Gordon (Monica) Crase of Dunlap, as well as 5 nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Robin was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial mass was held at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday August 28, 2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where friends may visit 2 hours before the service.
