Roger Duane Maier

Roger Duane Maier, 69 of Elkhart, passed away, February 7, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born May 17, 1944 in Cedar Grove, West Virginia to Wesley Floren and Alice Elizabeth (Powell) Maier. He married Carol Ann Trigg on July 1, 1963. She survives with 2 sons, Randal (Tracy) Maier of Indianapolis and Jeff (Mary Pat) Maier of Fishers and a daughter, Karen (Tom) Howard of Middlebury; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a twin sister, Connie Tignor of Lebanon, VA. Roger was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, Larry Maier, brother-in-law, Guy Tignor, and a nephew James Richard Tignor.

Roger worked for the “Packing House” for 28 years and later worked for Federal Paperboard, Holiday Rambler and Monaco. He had a love for a good tomato garden and enjoyed a good day on the picnic table drinking a beer and listening to classic country music.

Visitation will be Wednesday Feb. 12th from noon to 2 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will held at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.
