Roger Edward Roderick, 83, of Bristol passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Greenleaf Health Campus. He was born on September 14, 1935 in White Pigeon, MI to Edward C. and Ruth E. (Simpson) Roderick. He graduated from Bristol High School in 1953. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958- 1963. He was stationed in Athens, Greece and Travis Air Force Base in California. On August 14, 1964 he married Corinne Schlabach at Bristol United Methodist Church. Roger and his father owned Massey Ferguson Farm Equipment Sales and Service in Bristol. He worked as a Plant Manager at Ventline in Bristol and Elixir Industries in Elkhart. He retired from Heng’s Industries in 2014. He enjoyed all types of aircraft and was able to repair most anything. He was a constituent member of Trinity United Methodist Church on Jackson in Elkhart.
Roger is survived by his wife, Corinne; their daughter, Michelle Nowicki of Bristol, his grandchildren; Ryan E. (Baylee Sergeij) Nowicki of Indianapolis, Maria E. Nowicki and Maggie K. Nowicki both of Bristol. He is also survived by his brother, Harry (Bonnie) Roderick of Middlebury and his sister Mary Ann Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit with family from 4pm-7pm on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2715 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Rev. Tim Burchill will be officiating.Memorial donations may be made to the church or Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, INC, 922 East Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN 46617in Roger’s honor.
