Roger P. Rosenberg, 64, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born in Estherville, Iowa to the late Lester and Clara (Ayers) Rosenberg. On December 23, 1967 he married Delfa G. Franek of Lake Park, Iowa.
She survives, along with their 5 children: Stacey (Cindi Ciesiolka) of Mishawaka, Chris of Elkhart, Heidi (Brian Carpenter) of Elkhart, Shelby (Sara Klotz) of Elkhart and Shawn (Carolyn Weiss) of Fishers, IN; 9 grandchildren: Brody, Myles, Austin, Harley, Madisyn, Joey, Nicholas, Coley and Braylon; sister Marge (Kenneth) Vagle; in-laws Frank and Delphia Franek; brother-in-law(s) Frank (Val) Franek, Jr. and Craig (Debbie) Franek; sister-in-law Julie Rosenberg and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother David and sister Wanda.
Roger was a U.S. Army veteran with the 1st Cavalry Division Airmobile Unit and served one year in the Vietnam War (1968-69). He retired in 2008 after years of working as a sales representative in the fiberglass industry.
Roger enjoyed sharing time with his family and spent countless hours attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. Hunting and fishing were among his passions, especially time spent on his boat.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation and memorial service on Saturday, October 8th from 3 to 6 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart.
