Ron Pisani, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 85, the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 in Elkhart.
Born Jan. 22, 1933, in Youngstown, OH, Ron was the youngest of seven children born to Ferdinand and Anna (Lanotte) Pisani. Ron grew up in Youngstown graduating from Rayen High school and after serving four years in the Navy he attended and graduated with a B.A. and B.S. from Youngstown University (YU). While at YU he was a brother and president of the Sigma Kappa Sigma fraternity. In later years he became a lifetime member of the Masons and Shriners.
Ron enjoyed singing from his glee club days at Hayes Jr. High to his barbershop singing with the South Bend Valleyaires in his adult years in Michiana as a baritone. He went on to Northbrook barbershop chorus where they won the national championships. He was also a very talented artist. He created several pen and ink art works and even painted a mural in a friends’ home.
Ron took up skiing again in 1979 and traveled out West and yearly traveled for Thanksgiving to his favorite ski resort, Vail, CO. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the world after his retirement.
Ron spent most of his working life as a salesman, mostly in the RV and van industry. Two notable places of employment being Parr Ind. Where he was a general manager and Paramont Plastics in which he held the position as a sales representative.
Ron is survived by his lovely wife Sandra (Voelker) Pisani, the love of his life, who he married Oct 21, 1989; brother, Fred Pisani of Youngstown, OH., and children, Rhonda (Pisani) Shank (Randall) of Elkhart, Kevin Pisani (Michelle) of Edwardsburg, MI, and three grandchildren, Kaleb Shank, Brennan Shank, and Vinnie Pisani, along with his honorary son, Cody Trotter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 16 from 5-7 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where a masonic service will be held at 7 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10:30 am. Military honors will conclude the service by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the D.A.V. #19.
