Ronald "Ron" Steele

Ronald Lee Steele, 85, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Friday August 9,2024 at Elkhart General Hospital surrounded by his family. Ron was born on November 28, 1938 to Raymond and Evelyn Steele in Elkhart, IN. Ron married Patricia A. Cook on August 20, 1961 at Zion Missionary Church in Elkhart, IN.

Ron is survived by his wife of over 63 years Pat; their sons Michael Steele of Indiana and Mark (Yeda) Steele of Texas; granddaughters Victoria (Slavik) Steele Stozhka and Caroline Steele both of Texas. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Steele.

Ron honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for a supplier in the RV industry. He was a member of the Bristol American Legion Post 143 and the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. He loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11am -12 pm on Friday August 16, 2024 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 12pm. Pastor John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Steet Cemetery with military honors. Memorial donations in memory of Ron may be made to the charity of your choice.
