Ronald J. Tracy

Ronald J. Tracy, 74, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday May 16th at Hospice House of Elkhart surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 2, 1943 in Constantine, Michigan to Lee C. and Gladys O. (Lambert) Tracy. He married Rebecca J. Menges on Aug. 5, 1962 in Bristol. She survives along with 2 daughters, Sarah (Donald) Santerre and Amy (John) Branson both of Elkhart; 5 grandchildren, Chloe (Jonathan) Huseman, Joseph and Jane Santerre and Olivia and Drew Branson; 1 great-grandson, Owen Branson and a brother, Walter (Lois) Tracy of White Pigeon, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruthe Lund.

Ron graduated from Constantine High School in 1960 and retired as a truck driver after 37 years from Panolam Industries. He and Becky were former owners of the Cookie Hut for 10 years. Ron was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. He transported football equipment for Notre Dame to all the away games for 16 years. He enjoyed basketball and sponsored basketball teams at the Tolson Center. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and supported all of their activities.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 pm Friday, May 19th at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be from noon to 1 pm Saturday, May 20th at Faith United Methodist Church, where a service honoring Ron will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Carleton Cemetery.
