Rosa C. Hou

Rosa C. Hou, 92, of Bristol, passed away Monday January 16, 2023 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born September 16, 1930 in Liaoning, China to En Sing Ho and Chen Peiren Ho. On May 25, 1957 in Taiwan she married Edward Hou who preceded her in death on September 10, 2016.

Rosa graduated from the National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She was an author of 4 books, topics covering insects and fungi. She worked as a consultant for technical partnerships and joint ventures with China for 10 years before retirement. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and The Mad Hatter Red Hat Society.

Surviving are her sons Theodore (Laura) Hou of St. Augustine, FL and Alexander (Melissa) Hou of Falls Church, VA, and grandchildren, Amy (Matthew) Davis, Sara (John) McLean, Maxwell Hou and Amelia Hou.

Visitation for Rosa will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where services will be at noon on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to services.
