Rosemary E. (Hurley) Gunts

Rosemary E. Gunts, age 87 of Elkhart passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Elkhart Meadows. She was born on April 17, 1934 in Elkhart to Charles R. and Ruth Hurley. She married Carl l. Gunts, Sr. on February 17, 1961 in Elkhart.

Rosemary retired in 1989as the Financial Secretary & Treasurer of Grace Lutheran Church, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sunday School Officer, Assistant Church Secretary, Church Council, member of the Alter Guild, the Church Finance Committee and the Stewardship Committee and Secretary Treasure of History information and Benefits Association for Lutheran Branch #5201.

Rosemary is survived by her son, Carl L. (Norma) Gunts of Elkhart, her granddaughters, Courtney Renee (James) Bonner of Caney, Kansas and step-granddaughter Cristina Rocha of Elkhart, her great grandson, Christian Bonner and nephew Patrick Hurley. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Patrick R. Hurley and her sister, Kathryn McGaha.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 1 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Stone, Elkhart, IN 46514 where friends may visit 2 hours before the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Memorial donation may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 831 West Marion Street, Elkhart, IN 46516.
