Ruth E. Buckley

Ruth E. Buckley, 82, of Elkhart, passed away at 7:30 am, February 26, 2009 at her home.

She was born November 30, 1926 in Kearny, NJ to Phillip H. and Alice (Jepson) Eck and married John B. Buckley II of August 23, 1947 in Kearny, NJ. He died on February 19, 1988. Surviving are a son, John B. Buckley III of Clyde, NJ, 2 daughters, Beverly P. (Richard) Toth of Goshen and Alison B. (Todd) Snyder of Yorktown Heights, NY and 3 grandchildren. A son, Dennis E. Buckley and a sister, Phyllis E. Branch preceded in death.

Mrs. Buckley was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of Elcona Country Club where she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge. She was a life member of the Elkhart General Hospital Auxillary and was a former Girl Scout and Brownie leader.

Friends may call from 2-5 pm Sunday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at 11:00 am Monday. Reverend Brian Cray will officiate. Private family burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Faith United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
