Ruth Christine Field

Ruth Christine Field, 42 of Elkhart, died October 10, 2010 at the Elkhart Hospice House after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born June 12, 1968 in Joliet, IL to Paul J. and Luella (Dawson) Kocielko. She is survived by her children, Michael and Brittney Shaffer and Shyann Field of Elkhart and Aleshea (Bueno) Chavez-Black of Joliet; siblings, Lynette Finn, Paul Kocielko, Joleen (Richard) Cox and Richard (Tiffany) Kocielko; her mother and step-father Luella and Richard Kocielko all of Elkhart; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by twin sons, Michael Paul and David Allen Shaffer and her father.

Ruth was a stay at home mom and her children were her first priority. She was always there for her family in time of need. She loved playing online games and going to the casino.

Friends may call 2 hours prior to the 4 pm service on Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home at Cobblestone Crossing, Elkhart. Pastor Dwight Gosser will officiate.

Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
