Ruth Ann (Szymanski) Went

Ruth Ann Went, 77, of Vandalia, Michigan formerly of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at her grandson’s home. Ruth was born November 28, 1941 in South Bend, IN to Stanley and Alice Szymanski. On July 3 in South Bend she married Chedrick Went.

Ruth is survived by her sons; Michael (Phyllis) Oliver of Elkhart, IN, Chedrick Went of Granger, IN, John Went of Bristol, IN and Norbert Went of South Bend, IN, her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She also survived by her sister; Barbara Summers of South Bend, IN and her brother Carl (Barbara Jean) Szymanski of South Bend, IN. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Michelle Went and her sister, Geraldine Szymanski.

Friends may visit with family from 11 am to noon on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 411 West Vistula Street, Bristol, IN 46507 where Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon. Inurnment will be at a later date next to her husband at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, MI. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the Went Family with funeral arrangements.
