Samantha Ann Pritchett, 40, of Elkhart died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital following her long battle with cancer.
She was born June 3, 1970 in Evergreen Park, IL to Russell and Joanne (Karris) Pritchett. Surviving are 2 sons, Joshua Elliott Cameron and Shawn Michael Cameron both of Elkhart; a step-brother, Steven Hayes of Corpus Christie, TX; a step-sister, Debra Berger of Maitland, FL and her father and step-mother, Russell and Muriel Pritchett of Romeoville, IL. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and her loyal and trusted golden retriever, “Payton”. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Pritchett, and a sister, Amy Marie Pritchett.
Samantha was a licensed beautician in Indiana and Illinois and was a member of St. Thomas Church in Elkhart and enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid football and basketball fan who had a special place for the Chicago Bears and Bulls. She enjoyed Superbowls and filling out the NCAA tournament brackets. She enjoyed coaching and attending her sons sporting events.
Friends and family may call from 2-8 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where a Vigil service will be at 7:30 pm. Friends may also call a half hour prior to the 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church. Her Uncle, Fr. Robert Karris, O.F.M. and Fr. Bill Sullivan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL at a later date.
