Santos “San” Moreno, 75, of Fredericksburg, VA., formerly of Elkhart, made his final trip home to join his Lord and Savior on Nov. 19, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg.
San was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico in 1939 to Juan and Cuchin Moreno. He lost his father at a very young age and his mother remarried to a wonderful man named Julio Perez. He led San’s family and provided for San, his mother, and his five sisters with unparalleled love and dedication. San had a full and wonderful life. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He knew his role was not only to be a provider to his family, but more importantly he was to be his family’s spiritual leader.
San married his wife Wanda in Hiram, OH in 1967 and moved to Elkhart, IN in 1973. Elkhart was his home. He was involved in the community his whole life. His community involvement culminated with a primary role in the founding of Crossroads Latino Church. San knew his calling was to share the wisdom God gave him throughout his life and to share the good news of salvation in a relationship with Jesus.
Through the grief his family is enduring we also celebrate his life filled which was dedicated to God and His work. His family, who he led so faithfully, loved and admired him. He was our rock and foundation. His friends knew he was always a phone call away. San's work here is completed and we know as he entered Heaven God said," Well done good and faithful servant".
Surviving San are his wife of 47 years, Wanda, children; Mark (Chris) Moreno and Matthew (Courtney) Moreno; grandchildren Michael Glass, Tiffany Moreno and Cross Moreno; great-grandchildren; Gabriel and Owen Glass; 5 sisters; Mona Rodriguez, Genoveva Gonzalez, Carmen (Cleo) Torres, Margarita (Jose) Bocanegra and Maria (Edwin) Garcia.
