Shirley J. Cartwright

Shirley J. Cartwright, 83 of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Golden Living Center.

She was born April 25, 1934 in Freeport, Illinois. Surviving are 3 sons, Mill (Diana) Floyd of Elkhart, Craig Floyd of Dunedin, FL, and Barry (Carol) Floyd of Weatherford, TX; 3 grandchildren, Nickolas Floyd, a junior at Ball State, Brienna Floyd, a counselor at Jimtown Elementary, and Brooklynn Floyd, a sophomore at All Saints Episcopal, Ft. Worth, TX, and a brother Art Lehman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Marian Magnani, her husband, James Cartwright, 2 sisters, Donna and Rosie and a brother Richard Lehman.

Shirley retired from Topps Mobile Home in sales after 12 years. She had previously had worked for Burnstines and had owned her own beauty shop.

She attended Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing and playing cards. She dearly loved her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 14th from 1 pm to 2 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will begin at 2 pm. Rev. Sam Needham will officiate. Entombment will be at Rice Cemetery at a later date.
