Shirley E. DeWitt

Shirley E. DeWitt, 79 of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, June 4th at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 18, 1935 in Lima, OH to William and Dorothy (Schulhof) Ault. She married William F. DeWitt Jr. on April 16, 1951 in Lima. He died on Feb. 20, 2008. Surviving are 3 daughters, Cindy DeWitt of Bahrain, Judy (Blaine) Rex of Lima, OH and Chris (Frank) Largent of Elkhart; 2 sons, William (Martha) DeWitt III of FL, and Doug (Sheri) DeWitt of CA; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was a homemaker and had been an active member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren in Lima.

Cremation will take place and graveside services will be at a later date at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Mary’s Ohio.
