Shirley A, McNeal

Shirley A. McNeal, 87 of Elkhart passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home. Shirley was born on February 28, 1936 in Grand Rapids, MI to Clifford and Viola McMannis. She married Billy D. McNeal on June 6,1952 in Elkhart, he preceded her in death on September 12, 2017.

Shirley worked in several factories in her working career from lamps to chairs to shipping and receiving at Selmer. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting things for her family to enjoy. She would never pass at a good sale, and she loved going to  amusement parks and cheering for Notre Dame football. She loved to go on vacation and spend time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her children Jessie (Hazen) Amos and Terri McNeal all of Elkhart, IN; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and her siblings Connie (Randy) Lowe of Corbin, KY., Linda (Bill) Thoroman of Anthony, FL., Betty (Bob) Clinch of Ocala, Fl., and Mike (Kathy) McMannis of Goshen, IN. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Viola McMannis, her children, Vicki McNeal, Douglas McNeal, Billy K. McNeal and Richard McNeal; her siblings George McMannis and Janice Shirley.

Visitation will be from 10am -1 pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone, Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be held at 1pm  with World Mission Leader Dennis Amos Majestic Christian Holders will officiate. Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband Billy at Prairie Street in Elkhart, IN.
