Sidney K. Dew

Sidney K. Dew, 66, of Middlebury, passed away Wednesday May 11, 2016 at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elkhart.
He was born Nov. 13, 1949 in Toledo, OH to Earl R. and Helen (Magee) Dew. He married Patricia Fann on Dec. 24, 1976. She died Feb. 24, 1997. On June 11, 2000 he married Connie E. Barth. She survives along with 2 step-daughters, Stephanie (John) King of Columbus, IN and Jennifer Welcher of Indianapolis; 2 step-sons, Christopher Fann and Brian (Stacy) Fann both of Elkhart; step-grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Jack, Katie and Lilly; brother, Michael (Becky) Dew of Tucson, AZ and a sister, Deborah (Clyde) Kissel of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William L. Dew.
Sid graduated Suma Cume Laude from Florida State University and was a computer engineer for Microsoft Corp. in Charlotte, NC. He helped develop the Windows 95 program. He previously was a master mechanic. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and played in the Elkhart Municipal Band.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 14th at Rice Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society or Trinity Methodist Church. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
