Stephen W. Scott

Stephen W. Scott, 60, died at 1:50 a.m. July 27 in Mishawaka.

Steve was born in Mishawaka on Feb. 26, 1954, and raised by his mother, Phyllis Garl Scott, in Elkhart.

Steve is survived by seven grandchildren; sons Eric, Ryan (Lindsay) and Michael (Nichole) Scott; brother Robert Scott; sisters Linda Peterson and Susan Brass; and aunt and uncle Margery and Richard Brown.

Steve graduated from Elkhart High School in 1972. Shortly thereafter, he married Brenda Sue Clough in 1973 to which he stayed married for 31 years. He built a successful career in RV sales and later went on to build a salon business with his wife.

Steve was affiliated with the Jaycees and Simonton Lake Sportsmen’s Club. He was a charming friend to many and a loving father who could be found coaching Little League or taking his family on any number of camping, skiing, fishing and golf outings.

Friends may join the family at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, for two hours of visitation prior to a 3 p.m. funeral service at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd, Elkhart. Flowers may be sent there prior to the Sunday service. An informal memorial dinner will take place from 5 to 11 p.m. immediately after the funeral service at High Dive Park pavilion to celebrate his life.
