Tammie Yoder

Tammie D. Yoder, 66 of Elkhart, IN formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home, with her husband by her side. Tammie was born to Arlen and Betty Jean Vaughn on November 6,1957 in Manchester, Tennessee. Tammie married the love of her life William “Bill” Yoder on August 6, 1976, in Orange, TX.

Tammie loved being the wife of a United States Air man for over 20 years. At a young age Tammie enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidering, which is something she learned from her loving mom, Betty Jean. Tammie worked at a quilt store where she was the editor for their newsletter, where she retired in May of this year.

Tammie is survived by her husband, Bill Yoder; her mom, Betty Jean Vaughn and her brother Mark Vaugh all of Elkhart, IN., and a special lady that her and Bill thought of as their daughter, Machelle Henderson and her son Mason “PeeWee”. Tammie was preceded in death by her father Arlen Vaughn and her sisters Donna West and Vickie Brown.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11am – 1pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral service will be at 1pm. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Middlebury, IN.
