Teddy E. Nelson

Teddy Eugene Nelson, age 76, of Elkhart passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Teddy was born on April 8, 1944 in Warsaw to Dorwin and Donna Belle Nelson. On June 23, 1963 he married Mary Sommers at Grace United Brethren Church in Elkhart.

Teddy retired from Elkhart Tool & Die after 36 years of service, where he made R.V. and mobile home steps. He loved fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and his church family was also very important to him. Teddy was a member of Real Church of Elkhart.

Teddy is survived by his children, Nanette (Wayne) Neff of Vermontville, MI, Heidi (Marc) Berger of Elkhart; his grandchildren, Raymond (Misty) Palmer, Kody Sheldon, Joulene Neff, Cheyanne Boht and Taylor Boht; his great-grandchildren, Monica and Lyree; his brother, Dennis (Lynn) Nelson of Elkhart; his sisters, Diana Eash of Lutz, FL, Jackie (Jim) Nobles of Deming, New Mexico and Donna Aikin of Fort Wayne, IN.  Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Dorwin and Donna Belle Nelson, his wife Mary Nelson and his infant daughters Cynthia Kay Nelson and Christina Kay Nelson.

Friends may visit on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 4- 6 pm at Real Church of Elkhart, 607 Middleton Run Road, Elkhart, IN 46516 funeral services will be at 6 pm at the church. Pastor Leslie Guzowski will  be officiating.  Graveside services will be at 11 am on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen. Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home in Elkhart is assisting the Nelson family. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
