Terrell L. Bertrem

Terrell L. Bertrem, 66 of Elkhart, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away November 4, 2013 at Kindred Hospital of Northern Indiana.

He was born November 28, 1946 in Waycross, Georgia to Elmer C. and Florrie (Chaney) Bertrem. He married Christine A. Knight on February 17, 1968 in Elkhart. She survives with a son, Brian (Patricia) Bertrem of Elkhart, and a daughter, Melissa Justice of Beloit, WI; 3 grandchildren, Sophia and Elijah Bertrem and Kaitlyn Justice and a brother, Clarence (Brenda) Bertrem of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by a son, Troy D. Bertrem, brother, Robert Bertrem and his parents.

Terrell graduated from Concord High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He retired from Vincent Bach Co. as a buffer after 20 years. He attended Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of Tyrian Lodge #12 F&AM where he served as Worshipful Master in 1998. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, Mizpah Shrine, Elkhart Shrine Club and Elkhart Scottish Rite Club. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed his grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center, Elkhart where a masonic memorial will be held at 7 pm follow by a memorial service at 7:30 pm. Pastor Greg Smith will officiate. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
