Terry A. Engle

Terry “Gravel” Engle, 59 of Elkhart passed away July 13, 2012 after suffering a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 20, 1952 in Elkhart to Gerald and Betty (Kissinger) Engle and married Janis E. Potterbaum on Nov. 18, 1972. He is survived by his wife Janis Engle of Elkhart; a son, Thaddeus (Becca) Engle of St. Petersburg, FL; 2 daughters, Kari (Travis) Bone of Goshen and Julie (Michael) Reid of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 granddaughters, Nancy Engle and Jantz Reid; brother, Gary Engle of Goshen, sisters Donna (Pat) Sting, Diana (George) Zornow, brother Mark (Mary) Johnson and his mother and stepfather, Betty (Gerry) Johnson both of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his father.

“Gravel” was currently a bass player for Gravel Creek Bluegrass and also had played for D.S.O. for 25 years. He loved his family, especially his granddaughters, was a sports fan and avid Cubs fan and enjoyed reading.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart where services will be at 11 am Thursday. Pastors Rob Meckley and Denny Olsen will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
