W. Terry Kirchner, 55, of 58547 Walnut Hills Trail, Elkhart, died at 2:17 pm, Monday, May 25, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born February 1, 1954 in Elkhart to Kenneth E. and Zella “Cecilia” (Mellott) Kirchner. He married Debra A. Smith on May 24, 1980 in Elkhart. She survives with a daughter, Kathryn M. Kirchner and a son, Kristofer M. Kirchner both at home, 3 grandchildren, his mother, Vicky Osler of Elkhart, 2 brothers, Kenneth (Lorna) Kirchner of Bristol and Karl Kirchner of Goshen; 2 sisters, Reva Kirchner of Goshen and Chantelle (Chris) Hart of Bristol. A son, Terry Kirchner and his father Kenneth Kirchner preceded in death.
Mr. Kirchner owned Terry’s Wooden Things and later owned Floormasters, Inc. both in Elkhart. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1972 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of George Washington Masonic Lodge # 325, Bristol, and Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend.
Friends may call an hour prior to the memorial service at 1:00 pm Friday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart. Deacon Don Porter will officiate. Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date at California Road Cemetery, Elkhart.
