Terry R. Morehouse

Terry R. Morehouse, 68, of Goshen, passed away at 7:10 pm Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.

He was born October 28, 1940 in Elkhart to William N. and Helen I. (Berkman) Morehouse. He married Zoanne Drake and then married Kay K. Holderman on May 23, 1991 in Elkhart. She survives with a daughter, Jill (Mark) Hammond of French Lick, IN, a son Michael Morehouse of Portland, OR, a step-son Dennis (Beth) Beckner of Columbia City, IN, 2 step-daughters, Susan (Lawrence) Benner of Ashland, OH and Cindy (Terry) Whitmer of Elkhart, 6 grandchildren, a sister, Connie (Tom) Heerschop of Bristol, and a sister-in-law, Freda Morehouse of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Morehouse.

Terry retired from the Elkhart Truth after 38 years. He then worked for the Goshen News until leaving due to illness. He also worked for J.C. Penney Co. for 10 years. He was a member of the National Printers and Type Setters Association and was a member of a monthly eucher club for many years. He liked to travel. He served with the U.S. Navy.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home where services will be at 11 am Thursday. Reverend Jack McGlasson of Beulah Missionary Church and Terry's step-son, Reverend Dennis Beckner will officiate. Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery, where military honors will be given.
