Thelma M. Christner, 95, of Elkhart, passed away July 27, 2012 at Riverside Village, Elkhart.
She was born July 15, 1917 in Wakarusa to Reuben M. and Lulu (Myers) Molebash and married George E. Christner on November 6, 1937 in Topeka, IN. He died April 27, 1985. Surviving are 2 daughters, Nancy (Robert) Firestone of Goshen and Peggy Golightly of Elkhart; 1 son, Thomas G. (Victoria) Christner of Atlanta, GA; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray Golightly and a brother, Doyle Molebash.
Thelma was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Willowdale Homemakers Club and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart and one hour prior to services that will be held at 10 am Wednesday. Pastor Ron Bowman will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
