Thomas K. Koets

Thomas K. Koets, 69, of Goshen, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2008 after a short illness with MSA.


He was born December 16, 1938 in Kalamazoo, MI to Gerard and Norma (Keene) Koets. He married Beverly J. Corstange on December 13, 1968 in Kalamazoo. She survives along with 4 sons, Nathan (Julie) Koets of Elkhart, IN, Christopher Koets of Goshen, IN, Michael (Tanya) Koets of Bristol, IN, and Chad Koets of Goshen, IN; 2 grandsons, Jacob and Caleb Koets of Elkhart, IN, 1 sister, Nancy (Kenneth) Linders of Kalamazoo, MI and several nieces and nephews also survive. A brother Willard Koets and his parents preceded in death.


Mr. Koets graduated from Kalamazoo Central H.S. and earned a bachelors degree in mathematics and his masters degree in Physics from Western Michigan University. He was a self-employed Physicist and was a member of the Greene Road Church in Goshen where he served as an Elder. He was a past member of the Kalamazoo Corvette Club. He was a collector of Corvettes and owned 14 of them. He was an avid movie lover.


Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd. Elkhart, IN, and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at 11:00 am at the Greene Road Church, 518 N. Greene Road, Goshen, IN. Pastor John Wanders will officiate. Burial will be Saturday at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo.


Memorials may be given to Greene Road Church or the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.
